Re-reading The Feminine Mystique.
Homemaking and nurture should not be woman’s only option. Even so, I get the strong feeling that Betty Fridan felt deemed homemaker and nurturer to be an inferior thing to devote one’s self to. In my opinion, the majority of professions available to men, and now women, contribute to the rapacious nature of capitalism. Homemaker and nurturer seems a superior pursuit in that regard. Just as indigenous wisdom offers a superior planet management system. How would things look if Feminine and Indigenous Mystique ruled?
